Kimono top : linen cotton fabric

Hi all,

Kimono top, grunge inspired look created out of linen cotton fabric by Mayavastra.
Handloom checkered patch is used to stylize it.

Its an evening wear and can be paired with jeans, shorts or short skirts.

In this picture its been accessorized with a handmade macrame necklace.
It has loose elasticated sleeves and hemline which comes up till waist.
It's a free size kimono top and is comfortable for summer and spring season.

High-fashion Asymmetric draped cowl top

Hi all,

Today's outfit is one of my favourites.

It's a naturally dyed with Indigo dye, block printed with an eye , cotton fabric draped cowl top.

It's a high fashion street wear and really good for parties, outings and can be paired with jeans or trousers and shorts for classy look.
Minimal earrings and watch is a go accessory look for this style.

I love draped garments because they are very comfortable and accentuates the aesthetic body curves.
It's a classy, elegant top.

I have revisited my self modelling days in this outfit and that too is shot by 6.5 years old daughter ;)

Double Ikat Waistcoat

Happy Monday :)

Today's outfit is a double Ikat waistcoat, fabric sourced from Kolkata (India).

I will be covering the fabric section soon there I will be discussing about the different Indian
fabrics used across the country.

But to brief, Ikat (literally means tie and in the malay language it means "to bind") is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs resist dyeing on the yarns prior to dyeing and weaving the fabric.

This waistcoat is more ethnic tribal oriented and goes well for different cultural ethnic events.
It can be paired with tunics, tees, shirts. Inner lining used is a cotton denim.
Its good for summers and spring season. Waistcoats add up the funk to any simple dress.
Here its been paired with a handmade purse and skirt.

Indie Backwrap Waistcoat

Happy Sunday :)

Today's outfit is an Indie inspired waistcoat, with a back wrap Jute fabric styling at the
backside. Front side has embroidered lace fabric.

It goes well with shorts, skirts or jeans paired along a tee shirt or a plain white kurta.

It has a touch of 90's style and if worn with boots will give a mix of grunge indie style.

Asymmetric tunic using Mud resist printing

Hello all happy Saturday :)

Today's outfit is an Eco friendly naturally dyed asymmetric tunic made using Mud resist printing technique.

Today's tunic is a flower block print grey color cotton tunic.
It has shell buttons in the front and asymmetric at side seam near waistline. Back is plain hence, no pictures for it.
It can be paired up with boots for music festivals, weekend outings or for more ethnic look pair it with Kutch (Gujarat) embroidered bags. Some bracelets and wooden bangles to go with to maintain the earthy yet outgoing look. For bottom one can wear jeans, shorts ,cotton trousers or capris.

Asymmetric tunics are good for short and little heavy people as it will make them look taller and slimmer.
Its comfortable and very good for summer.
Wear it during traveling time as in when one is holidaying its a good effortless look.

I was away from my sewing and designing for about 5-7 years, slowly I am coming out of my cocoon. Please feel free to give some critics and comments as I will have a clearer picture where I am headed and can improvise and come out with better clothes.

Today''s outfit is a grunge twist bohemian shirt dress.
Its made out of handloom khadi cotton fabric from Kutch. Its a checkered black grey color.

The shirt dress is a summer ideal with tie up strings at the neckline. It has two front darts at the front just below bust line for proper fit. Long bishop sleeves and loose comfy silhouette. It can be paired with jeans, shorts, leggings, short skirts.
In this image it has been paired with handmade crochet purse.
Its a good shirt dress for traveling, weekend or casual outing.

Twist indigo crop top

Hello,

Today's outfit is a relaxed chilled out twist crop top. Its summery, free spirited beachwear.
It can be worn under a kimono, jacket, or a see through tee shirt on a hot beach day.
It has tie up strings at side seam which can be adjusted as per bust size.
